On November 18th, the "2023 China-Iran International ConferenceofUncertainty Theory" hosted by XPU was grandly opened in Jinhua Campus. President Wang Haiyan attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. The conference was one of the theme forums of the2023Silk Road Education CooperationExpoin Shaanxi Province. More than 80 representatives from more than 30 universities, including Iranian Advanced Technology Research Institute University, Iranian Shahid Beheshti University, Pakistani Islamabad Konsa University, Slovenian Novagoric University and Beijing Institute of Technology in China, attended the conference. The opening ceremony was presided over by Ma Yingcang, Dean of the School of Science.
In his speech, President Wang Haiyan extended a warm welcome to the participating experts and scholars,introducingthe school-running characteristics ofXPUand the achievements in discipline construction, teaching and research.He also introduced thepersonnel training in recent years.Additionally, hepointed out that uncertainty theorywasa basic scientific problem in the research of artificial intelligence, which providedbasic viewpoints and mathematical methods for the research of artificial intelligence. He hoped that everyone could communicate freely with the participating experts, put forward new ideas, create new theories, condense new wisdom and form new synergy, contributing to the development of uncertainty theory and artificial intelligence.
Professor Radzhab Ali Bortoi, Chairman of Academic Committee, Professor Xin Xiaolong, Chairman of Organizing Committee, and Professor Madad Khan, Konsa University in Islamabad of Pakistan, delivered speeches successively.
In the invited report session, 11 experts, including Professor Mohammad Mehdi Zahedi from the University of Advanced Technology Research Institute, Professor Radzhab Ali Bortoi from Shahid Beheshti University, Professor Li Qingguo from Hunan University, Professor Li Yongming from Shaanxi Normal University and Professor Yang Yichuan from Beihang University, gave wonderful reports. These reports focused on uncertainty theories such as non-classical logic, fuzzy set theory and stochastic differential equations, and introduced the latest achievements of uncertainty theory and its application in artificial intelligence and intelligent decision-making.
This international conference lasted for 4 days from November 17th to 20th. The convening of the conference is an important measure for our school to actively serve and integrate into the new development pattern of "the belt and road initiative".XPUwill take this opportunity to actively expand the field of international exchanges and cooperation. It will alsoimprove the quality of personnel trainingandfurther strengthen technological innovation cooperation with universities, scientific research institutions and all walks of life at home and abroad. In an addition, it willpromote civilized exchanges and mutual learning for the high-quality development.
